Holly Jackson “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”

The story takes place in a small city called Little Kilton, where 5 years ago a popular student Andrea “Andie” Bell was killed and the supposed killer Salil “Sal” Singh, who was also her boyfriend, committed suicide. Everyone, including the police were sure that Sal was the murderer. After all, why would an innocent person, who’s got nothing to hide, take their own life? However, there is one person, who does not agree with that theory and that is Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi. When it’s time for the Year 13 students to pick a topic for their final project, Pip is willing to reveal the truth. Despite all the setbacks and horrors that she must face, Pip finds out the real story. But is the city ready to hear it? With Sal’s younger brother Ravi, Pip discovers a lot of well kept dirty secrets, crazy plot twists and unexpected emotional outbursts.
Holly Jackson has written a wonderful book, which is structured exactly so that it’s impossible to put the book down. I would suggest it to people who want some action and crime with a hint of love. While the book is not overly cheesy, it’s still got enough thrill to keep you up at night. It’s suitable for both teenagers and adults.
