Rachel Cohn and David Levithan “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”

„Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist“ is a fast-paced romance novel for young adults. It centres around two young people who meet at a concert. It has a gripping story of a first date that seems like a dream for every music lover who should happen to read this book.

Nick plays bass in a band with his friends and is giving a concert at the start of this book’s story. After the show, he goes into the crowd at the concert venue but sees his ex. Norah happens to be standing nearby. Nick decides to pretend that Norah is his new girlfriend, to which Norah agrees. It is revealed that Norah is trying to get over her ex, just like Nick. What follows is a wonderful night of getting to know each other.

What makes this story interesting is that it is written from both Nick and Norah’s points of view. The reader gets to see what these two think of the same situations, whether their thoughts are similar or not.

I would recommend this book to young adults and adults who like to read stories about the thrills of first love and/or stories that are intertwined with music.
